Curtido is a fermented relish that is typical of Salvadoran cuisine.

The lime and oregano in this recipe immediately transports you to Central America. Add to a wrap, taco or sandwich and serve with a cerveza. A small amount added to a shakshuka gives extra freshness. Due to the smoked chipotle included in the recipe it also partners with any barbequed foods.

Ingredients:

Hispi Cabbage, Onion, Carrot, Lime, Oregano, Sea Salt, Chipotle Chilli Flakes.

Pairings:

  • Latin American dishes
  • Chicken
  • Pork
  • Avocado

4 ways to enjoy:

  1. In a Wrap / Taco

  2. Shakshuka

  3. Roast Pork / Chicken

  4. Barbecue Side-dish

Really tasty

Loved it. Bought as a present but allowed to share it crunchy and with a bite. Lovely. Sadly we are in Ireland so as it needs to be kept refrigerated while travelling we will have to wait for our next visit
