Curtido is a fermented relish that is typical of Salvadoran cuisine.

The lime and oregano in this recipe immediately transports you to Central America. Add to a wrap, taco or sandwich and serve with a cerveza. A small amount added to a shakshuka gives extra freshness. Due to the smoked chipotle included in the recipe it also partners with any barbequed foods.

Ingredients:  

Hispi Cabbage, Onion, Carrot, Lime, Oregano, Sea Salt, Chipotle Chilli Flakes.

A New Taste Dimension

I saw this promoted on Marcus Wareing’s TV programme, and my wife had been talking to me for a while about trying Kimchi, so I thought…. Why not! Frankly, it has invigorated my taste buds. I’m serving it alongside all sorts of cold and cooked meats with Jersey Royals or baby new potatoes. It’s delicious. And now I’m looking for things I can include with it. Totally go for it if you’re not sure. It will bring something different to your table.

I’m sure it was excellent quality, but I realise that I just don’t like fermented food.
